By far, the most powerful impact by any language on the internet (web) is that of the all-powerful all-knowing centralized gatekeeper and key master of beauty, the Cascading Style Sheet (CSS). PHP and CSS are polar opposites but come together like Studio 54’s intro and extroverted management duality.

CSS has made the internet attractive, if not beautiful. I say attractive because it still doesn’t beat a sunset on the beach, but it is certainly light years from where it was when we were using < font > tags at angelfire or geocities. CSS has made countless things possible for interactive design and the internet would be nowhere without it.

PHP is an incredibly powerful language that was invented long before we even started web development (sometime in the mid nineties). So far, PHP has proved to be the most flexible, easy to learn, and customer satisfying programming language to date. Aside from Visual Basic, PHP is the newbie’s “in” to computer programming.

PHP has so many great features, it’s a dream to debug and even easier to deploy. We have not found any limitations with PHP that have made it impossible to complete a task for a client to this day.

PHP is #1! Corny?

JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a great way of writing your JavaScript code. We use the technique when using MooTools FX libraries. That’s right, we are mad for milk and have never needed to leave the farm in search of a jQuery, though, from what I see they are basically identical. JSON makes sense of your code when creating objects, it’s basically what ruby on rails supposedly does for PHP but that remains to be seen in our eyes.

JSON is not something you’ll directly interact with and some use it without even knowing simply by copying or modifying a code example using the technique. JSON spans multiple languages so it’s not limited to just JavaScript.

JSON is obviously the way you will be programming your next JavaScript application so you might as well read up on it!
